The Tapo C615F KIT is a solar-powered floodlight pan/tilt camera bundle, not a wired RTSP camera. The box includes the C615F camera, Tapo A201 solar panel, solar bracket, USB charging cable, solar extension cable, mounting hardware, and templates. The official spec sheet lists 2304 by 1296 video up to 20 fps, an 800-lumen 4000K floodlight, 338-degree mechanical pan, 97-degree mechanical tilt, IP65 weather resistance for both camera and panel, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It does not list RTSP or ONVIF, so TapoAppForPC cannot stream it locally.
What is in the kit.
The C615F KIT box contains the C615F camera, the Tapo A201 solar panel, the A201 solar panel bracket, a base cover, USB charging cable, solar extension cable, mounting screws and anchors, two mounting template stickers, and a quick start guide. TP-Link says 45 minutes of direct sunlight can power a typical day and quotes up to 140 days without sunlight under lab conditions.
Image quality delivers 2K 3MP.
The 1/2.8 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor captures 2K 3MP 2304 by 1296 video at up to 20 frames per second. The 4 mm F1.6 lens covers a 100-degree diagonal, 84-degree horizontal, and 44-degree vertical field of view before the motor moves, and digital zoom reaches 12x inside the Tapo app.
Floodlight and night vision define the camera.
The C615F combines two 850 nm infrared LEDs rated to 32.8 feet, or 10 metres, with two built-in spotlights and one 800-lumen 4000K floodlight. The floodlight can be motion activated or app controlled, and the pan/tilt body gives 338 degrees of mechanical pan and 97 degrees of mechanical tilt.
RTSP and TapoAppForPC compatibility are absent.
TapoAppForPC cannot stream the Tapo C615F KIT. The official C615F specification lists Wi-Fi connectivity, microSD storage, cloud storage, app live view, and local AI detection, but it does not list RTSP, ONVIF, or Ethernet. Without a local RTSP endpoint, the desktop app has nothing to attach to.
Why solar Tapos skip local streaming.
A continuous RTSP session would keep a solar battery camera awake, moving video across the network far more often than event recording. The C615F is designed around motion detection, app live view, solar top-ups, microSD clips, and Tapo Care snapshots, not a persistent local stream.
What to buy instead.
If you want a wired outdoor floodlight Tapo with desktop streaming, buy the Tapo C720. It has a 2,800-lumen hardwired floodlight and lists RTSP and ONVIF support. If you want wired outdoor pan/tilt with 4K resolution, buy the Tapo C560WS instead.
What we would buy differently.
If the install location has mains power, we would skip the C615F kit and buy a C720. The wired floodlight body is brighter, local streaming works in TapoAppForPC, and the install is cleaner when an electrical box already exists. The C615F only wins when no cable run is realistic.
Verdict on the Tapo C615F KIT.
The Tapo C615F KIT is the right pick when cable-free installation, solar charging, and an 800-lumen floodlight matter more than desktop streaming. It is the wrong camera for TapoAppForPC because the official spec sheet does not expose RTSP or ONVIF. Choose the C615F for a fence post or shed wall with no power. Choose the C720 or C560WS when the camera needs to live on the desktop grid.
Put the Tapo C615F KIT on your desktop grid.
TapoAppForPC streams the Tapo C615F KIT directly over the local network at its native 2K resolution with live AAC audio. No cloud, no subscription, no Android emulator.
Tapo C615F KIT frequently asked questions.
Does the Tapo C615F support RTSP on TapoAppForPC?
No. The official C615F specification does not list RTSP or ONVIF support, so TapoAppForPC cannot stream it over the local network.
What is in the Tapo C615F KIT box?
The camera, Tapo A201 solar panel, A201 solar panel bracket, base cover, USB charging cable, solar extension cable, mounting screws and anchors, two mounting template stickers, and a quick start guide.
How long does the Tapo C615F battery last?
TP-Link quotes up to 140 days without sunlight under lab conditions, and says 45 minutes of direct sunlight can power a typical day. Real runtime depends on motion, live view, and floodlight use.
Is the Tapo C615F KIT weatherproof?
Yes. TP-Link rates both the C615F camera and the included solar panel IP65, with operating temperature from -20 C to 45 C.
What is the closest wired Tapo to the C615F that TapoAppForPC streams?
The Tapo C720 for an outdoor hardwired floodlight camera with RTSP and ONVIF, or the Tapo C560WS for a 4K outdoor wired pan/tilt with RTSP and ONVIF support.
