The Tapo C545D is TP-Link's outdoor dual-lens pan/tilt camera. It pairs a 2.53 mm fixed wide lens with a 165.1-degree diagonal view and a 6 mm pan/tilt lens with a 66.5-degree diagonal view. The official spec sheet lists dual 2K 3MP 2304 by 1296 video at 15 fps, RTSP and ONVIF support, RJ45 Ethernet, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, IP66 weather resistance, and 12V DC power. TapoAppForPC users should treat it as the outdoor hybrid option when C320WS plus C520WS would otherwise occupy the same wall.
Design and build combine two outdoor views.
The C545D is a wall, ceiling, or pole-mount outdoor camera with two lenses in one IP66 housing. It has a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port, reset button, microSD slot up to 512 GB, built-in microphone and speaker, waterproof cable attachments, and a 12V DC power adapter. Ethernet is useful for stability, but the official spec sheet does not list power delivery over Ethernet, so plan for the supplied power adapter.
Image quality splits wide and telephoto views.
Both lenses capture 2K 3MP 2304 by 1296 video at 15 frames per second over H.264. The wide 2.53 mm F1.6 lens covers 165.1 degrees diagonal, 137.6 degrees horizontal, and 73 degrees vertical. The 6 mm F1.6 pan/tilt lens narrows to 66.5 degrees diagonal, 57.3 degrees horizontal, and 31.7 degrees vertical for detail work.
Night vision and AI focus on outdoor coverage.
Night vision combines 850 nm infrared to 99 feet, or 29.9 metres, with colour night vision from the built-in spotlights. TP-Link's AI set covers motion, person, pet, vehicle, line-crossing, and tamper detection. The camera also supports activity zones for motion, person, pet, and vehicle detection.
RTSP and TapoAppForPC use the wired-camera path.
The C545D lists RTSP and ONVIF support on TP-Link's official spec sheet. After enabling the Camera Account inside the Tapo phone app, TapoAppForPC finds the camera on the LAN over Wi-Fi or Ethernet and streams the local 2K 3MP feed. The practical use case is a wide overview tile plus a pan/tilt detail view from one outdoor mount.
Setup in the web app takes three steps.
Mount the camera, connect the 12V DC power adapter and optional Ethernet, then open TapoAppForPC and scan the local network. When the C545D appears, enter the Camera Account username and password; the outdoor hybrid view joins the desktop grid with AAC audio and local controls for the motorised lens.
Who should buy the Tapo C545D.
Buy the C545D when a driveway, front entrance, yard, or corner wall needs both whole-scene coverage and a zoomed detail view from the same mounting point. Skip it if one fixed outdoor angle is enough, because the C325WB is simpler and cheaper for colour night detail.
What we would buy differently.
If the install only needs one outdoor angle and the budget is tight, we would skip down to a single C325WB. The C545D earns its premium only when the same pole or wall genuinely needs both a wide overview and a controllable detail lens.
Verdict on the Tapo C545D.
The Tapo C545D is the outdoor hybrid Tapo to buy when one mount needs two jobs. It is not a 4K camera and it is not a battery camera, but it avoids the awkward two-camera pole that pairs a fixed outdoor bullet with a separate pan/tilt unit. In TapoAppForPC, the C545D belongs where the wide lens watches the scene and the motorised lens handles the detail check.
Put the Tapo C545D on your desktop grid.
TapoAppForPC streams the Tapo C545D directly over the local network at its native 2K+2K resolution with live AAC audio. No cloud, no subscription, no Android emulator.
Tapo C545D frequently asked questions.
Does the Tapo C545D support RTSP on TapoAppForPC?
Yes. TP-Link's official C545D spec sheet lists RTSP and ONVIF support, and TapoAppForPC streams it locally after you enable the Camera Account.
Can I buy the Tapo C545D on Amazon US?
Not yet in our current buying data. The C545D appears first on regional Tapo and TP-Link channels, so check the official store before assuming an Amazon US SKU exists.
How does the Tapo C545D compare to the Tapo C246D Hybrid?
The C246D is the smaller indoor/outdoor dual-lens model with IP65 and 5V Type-C power. The C545D is the larger outdoor model with IP66, Ethernet, 12V DC power, and a wider 165.1-degree overview lens.
Is the Tapo C545D weatherproof?
Yes. TP-Link rates the C545D IP66 and lists operation from -30 C to 60 C, with wall, ceiling, and pole mounting options.
Does the Tapo C545D work on Mac?
Yes, via TapoAppForPC. TP-Link does not ship a Mac desktop app, but the C545D lists RTSP and ONVIF support for local streaming after Camera Account setup.
