The Tapo C560WS is TP-Link's 4K outdoor pan/tilt camera for buyers who want more detail than the 2K C520WS can provide. The official spec sheet lists a 1/2.7 inch starlight sensor, 3840 by 2160 video at 25 fps, RTSP and ONVIF support, Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi 6 networking, IP66 weather resistance, 326-degree mechanical pan, 53-degree mechanical tilt, and a 12V DC power adapter. In TapoAppForPC, the C560WS is the high-resolution outdoor motorised pick.

Design and build match outdoor wired installs.

The C560WS is a dome-style outdoor pan/tilt camera with an IP66 shell, wall, ceiling, and pole mounting options, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, reset button, microSD slot up to 512 GB, built-in microphone and speaker, waterproof cable attachments, and a 12V DC power adapter. TP-Link rates operation from -30 C to 60 C, which is much better than the old 0 C to 40 C assumption.

Image quality delivers 4K at 25 fps.

The 1/2.7 inch starlight sensor captures 4K 8MP 3840 by 2160 video at 25 frames per second over H.264. The 4 mm F1.6 lens covers a 105-degree diagonal, 88-degree horizontal, and 45-degree vertical field of view before the motor moves. The 18x digital zoom is digital, not optical, so the 4K sensor is doing the detail work.

Night vision and AI separate it from C520WS.

Night vision combines an 850 nm infrared LED, starlight colour night vision, and two built-in spotlights. AI detection covers motion, person, pet, and vehicle events, while local facial recognition can tag family, friends, and strangers inside the Tapo app. The siren is rated at 99 dB at 10 cm.

Pan, tilt and connectivity fit desktop viewing.

The pan motor has a 326-degree mechanical range that TP-Link maps to 360-degree pan coverage, and the tilt motor has a 53-degree mechanical range that maps to 98-degree tilt coverage. Networking can run through Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi 6, which makes the C560WS easier to keep stable than a 2.4 GHz-only outdoor camera.

RTSP and TapoAppForPC use the wired-camera path.

The C560WS lists RTSP and ONVIF support on TP-Link's official spec sheet. After enabling the Camera Account inside the Tapo phone app, TapoAppForPC finds the camera on the LAN over Wi-Fi or Ethernet and streams the main 4K feed over rtsp://192.168.x.x:554/stream1.

Setup in the web app takes three steps.

Mount the camera, connect the 12V DC power adapter and optional Ethernet, then open TapoAppForPC and scan the local network. When the C560WS appears, enter the Camera Account username and password; the 4K feed joins the desktop grid with AAC audio, digital zoom, and local pan/tilt controls.

Who should buy the Tapo C560WS.

Buy the C560WS when the outdoor view needs motorised coverage and 2K detail from the C520WS is not enough. Skip it if the driveway is short, the gate is close, or 2K is already readable; the C520WS keeps the same broad workflow for less money.

What we would buy differently.

If the driveway is short and the parking spots are inside the gate, we would step down to the C520WS. The C560WS earns its premium when 4K detail at distance is the actual job, not just because 4K looks better on a spec table.

Verdict on the Tapo C560WS.

The Tapo C560WS is the premium outdoor pan/tilt Tapo for TapoAppForPC users. Buy it when 4K detail, Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and local RTSP streaming all matter at once. We would not replace every C520WS with it, but for a long driveway or wider yard where 2K turns important details soft, the C560WS is the clearer desktop-grid camera.

Put the Tapo C560WS on your desktop grid.

TapoAppForPC streams the Tapo C560WS directly over the local network at its native 4K resolution with live AAC audio. No cloud, no subscription, no Android emulator.
