Privacy policy.
The short version.
TapoAppForPC runs on your own computer. Your Tapo camera video, camera credentials, Camera Account username and password, and RTSP streams never leave your home network. We do not host, relay, proxy, or cache any camera video at any point. We cannot see your cameras, and we do not want to.
What the website collects.
The TapoAppForPC.com marketing site uses no analytics, no pixel trackers, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no heatmap tools. Our web server logs standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, HTTP status code, timestamp) for 30 days for abuse prevention, and then discards it. We do not correlate IP addresses with any other identifier.
What the web app collects.
The TapoAppForPC web app at tapoappforpc.com/app stores your camera list, Camera Account credentials, and per-camera preferences inside your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your computer. If you clear your browser storage, your camera list disappears and you re-add cameras via the Scan Network wizard. The web app fetches video and audio from the bundled streaming layer running on your own computer, never from our servers.
What we send to third parties.
When you click an "Amazon" button in a Tapo camera review, your browser opens Amazon with our affiliate tag in the URL. That affiliate click is between your browser and Amazon, and Amazon's privacy policy governs it. We do not share, sell, or transfer any of your data to any other third party. We do not run advertising networks.
Cookies.
TapoAppForPC.com sets no tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use is the localStorage key tapoappforpc:cameras:v1 inside the web app at /app/, which holds your camera list. You can clear it at any time via your browser's DevTools.
Your data, your control.
You have no account with TapoAppForPC. There is no account to delete, no password to reset, and no personal data we hold about you on our servers. If you want to remove every trace of TapoAppForPC from your computer, clear your browser storage for tapoappforpc.com and uninstall the (forthcoming) native Windows or Mac app from the Control Panel or Applications folder. That is the entirety of the data footprint.
