The Tapo C545D is TP-Link's outdoor-rated dual-lens Tapo camera. It pairs a 165 degree fixed wide lens for whole-driveway coverage with a 6mm telephoto pan-tilt lens for zoomed detail on faces, license plates, and parcels at the door. Both lenses are 2K, both are IP66 weatherproof, and both expose an independent RTSP stream on current firmware. TapoAppForPC renders the C545D as two separate tiles in the grid and wires the motor controls to the telephoto lens only.
Design and build.
The C545D is a wall or eave mount outdoor camera with the fixed wide lens on the left and the motorised telephoto lens on the right, both behind a shared IP66 housing. The power tail is a 12V DC barrel jack and the unit also accepts Ethernet, so you can run it as pure Wi-Fi or as a wired PoE-style install with a passive injector.
Image quality and night vision.
Both lenses capture 2K (2560x1440) at H.264 inside TapoAppForPC. The fixed wide lens delivers a 165 degree field of view for whole-scene coverage. The telephoto lens narrows the field for detail work and rotates 270 degrees horizontally by roughly 50 degrees vertically under manual and auto tracking. The starlight sensor captures colour down to low-lux, and the integrated spotlights kick in below that threshold for full-colour night footage.
RTSP and TapoAppForPC compatibility.
The C545D sits in TP-Link's Outdoor wired family alongside the C320WS and the C325WB, which means it appears on TP-Link's official RTSP support list. Each lens exposes its own RTSP stream at rtsp://CAMERA_IP:554/stream1 and stream2 for that lens, the same per-lens architecture as the indoor C246D. TapoAppForPC scans the camera, creates two tiles in the grid, and binds the W, A, S, D keyboard shortcuts to the telephoto tile only.
Setup in the web app takes three steps.
Open tapoappforpc.com/app in any desktop browser, click Scan Network, and accept both C545D entries when the wizard lists the two lenses at sequential LAN IPs. Enter your Camera Account username and password once and both tiles populate with live video and audio.
Who should buy it.
The C545D is the right pick when a driveway, front entrance, or garden needs both whole-scene coverage and a zoomed detail shot from the same mounting point. It replaces the clunky pairing of a C320WS (fixed wide outdoor) plus a C520WS (motor outdoor) on a single pole, with a single power run and a single Wi-Fi radio.
Verdict.
The Tapo C545D is the outdoor wired Tapo we reach for when the room-or-yard genuinely needs two lenses on one mount. Buy the C545D when you need overview plus detail from one pole, otherwise the C325WB delivers the same 2K starlight night vision on a single wide lens for less money. Both stream inside TapoAppForPC with zero exceptions.
Put the Tapo C545D on your desktop grid.
TapoAppForPC streams the Tapo C545D directly over the local network at its native 2K+2K resolution with live AAC audio. No cloud, no subscription, no Android emulator.
Tapo C545D frequently asked questions.
Does the Tapo C545D support RTSP on TapoAppForPC?
Yes, per lens. The fixed wide lens and the motorised telephoto lens each expose their own RTSP stream and TapoAppForPC renders them as two separate tiles in the grid with the motor controls bound to the telephoto tile only.
Can I buy the Tapo C545D on Amazon US?
Not yet. The Tapo C545D launched on tp-link.com first and an Amazon US listing is pending. Buy direct from tp-link.com for now; we will update the affiliate link as soon as the Amazon SKU is live.
How does the Tapo C545D compare to the Tapo C246D Hybrid?
The C246D is an indoor-only dual-lens Tapo with a 125 degree fixed wide plus a full 360 degree pan-tilt lens. The C545D is its outdoor sibling, IP66 weatherproof with a 165 degree wide and a tighter telephoto pan-tilt range. Both expose per-lens RTSP and both render as two tiles in TapoAppForPC.
Is the Tapo C545D weatherproof?
Yes, IP66 rated across both lenses. The shared housing is sealed and the barrel-jack power tail ships with a waterproof cable gland in the box.
Does the Tapo C545D work on Mac?
Yes, via TapoAppForPC. TP-Link does not ship a Mac client, but the C545D's RTSP streams are standard H.264 and TapoAppForPC bundles the streaming engine so you can skip VLC and YAML.
